Here we go again… the television has all these cutesy-wootsie commericals with a guy and his son picking out a gift for his wife on Valentines day. She gets her gift, kisses her husband and the precocious child let’s the Mom know (who has tears in her eyes) that he helped pick it out. Awwwwwwwwww. For the rest of the world, without central casting and a script, Valentines day is not always so picture perfect. The reality is, if you have a relationship that is good almost every day, and your partner treats you well almost every day, Valentines Day does mean something. However, if the man in your life treats you like shit, ignores you, manipulates you, and basically makes life suck 364 days a year, that one day doesn’t mean bubbkus. He can bring you flowers, candy or you can go out to dinner, but what about the rest of the year? Why do women put such value on one day of the year and ignore the rest of it? I have heard how pissed some women are going to be if he doesn’t get them something or do something on Valentine’s Day (or God forbid, forgets it). [...]

Not having sex in your relationship? Most people want to experience the connection to their partner, the intimacy and the passion of sex in their relationship on a regular basis. So why is aren’t you having sex? Are you or your partner ill? Have your fights gone unresolved to where you don’t connect sexually or one (or both) of you is withholding? Are either of you so unpleasant to be around? Always being negative, always critical, and never putting out any compliments or affectionate behavior? Do you take each other for granted and then expect that because you are ready they should be too? Do you say nasty things to your partner when they are not in the mood and give them a hard time? All of these things can contribute to a lack of sexual relations in your relationship. If you make your partner feel unattractive all week long but then on Saturday night you want them to feel turned on with no help from you, you are asking to be turned down. For men, the mood to have sex can strike immediately. For women, the mood develops slowly, and seems to be something men cannot and almost refuse [...]

Friends or Enemies? Is The One You Love a Friend or an Enemy? If you look up the word friend to find a definition you would could up with something similar to the following: A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade. If you take a look at couples that are in strong, healthy, satisfying relationships, you will see that they fit the definition of a friend as well as a lover. If you take a look at people in unhappy, dysfunctional drama-ridden relationships you will see that they do not fit the definition of friend. What they DO fit is the definition of the word enemy a lot better. The word enemy can be defined as: One who feels hatred toward, intends injury to, or opposes the interests of another; a foe. A hostile power or force Something destructive or injurious in its effects. Which is the person YOU are involved with? Your friend or your enemy? We have all heard that the best relationships start out being friends first, and even though you may not have started [...]

SWEETHEART SCAMS The sweetheart scam is one of the most devastating scams of all. The victim will not only lose money, a car, property, a business, be left responsible for enormous debt, they will often suffer psychologically and emotional. The sense of betrayal one feels after being a victim of a sweetheart scam can lead to trust issues (and who can blame them?) and feelings of embarrassment, often so bad they won’t report the crimes against them. The internet has been a huge help to sweetheart scammers. The internet has helped them cast a much wider net to “catch” their victims, while they use the cloak of anonymity the internet provides to hide their secrets and schemes, and move on to the next victim. Many men and women have found themselves the victim of a sweetheart scam, and the come from all backgrounds, races, ages, and education levels. Don’t think you have to be incredibly naive to fall for a sweetheart scam, or that it couldn’t happen to you. No victim went into it thinking it could happen to them. These con artists are professionals, and often make these schemes their sole source of income! Most sweetheart scammers are pulling [...]
