How the Media Warps Relationship Reality Sometimes I wonder where people get their ideas about love and relationship from. When I got in line at the grocery store I saw many women’s magazines with article titles such as: 1. How to make him love you forever! 2. How to make sure he never cheats! 3. How to make a man commit to you forever! 4. Ways to make any man attracted to you! 5. Sex tips to make him yours! 6. Best ways to make him fall in love with you! Those were a few. I had wished I had lighter fluid and a lighter in my cart. This is what relationship articles are being written for women? Do women actually believe there is a tip to make him fall in love with you? Are you kidding me here? What mindless, senseless, illogical NONSENSE this all is. Between the pictures being airbrushed or photoshopped, the content is just as fake…. Now let’s take shows like the bachelor. Women on t.v crying about the man they “love” that they barely know, barely spent time with, and is cavorting around with tons of other chicks. REALLY? Seriously? REALLY? Are we supposed to [...]

When it comes to dating, many men “claim” to be looking for a relationship, when they are actually looking to serial date. For example: On internet dating websites, so many men say they are looking for a serious relationship, yet when you date them, you find out what big fat liars they are. They start dating you, and you get along great, speak on the phone and text quite a bit, and then the bombshell. Out of the blue they tell you they are not ready for a relationship! So why were they dating you? Why did they put on their profile that they were looking for a relationship yet now they say they are not ready for one? Why lie about their intentions? So you go out with them, that’s why. So they can have sex with you, that’s why. Serial daters date several women at the same time. That would be fine if they were looking for the right girl to settle down with, but serial daters want to be free to date as many women as they please and have zero intention on settling down. Once the newness has worn off, it starts getting more serious or [...]

Have you ever asked someone about their relationship and all they can respond with is “It’s complicated”? Have you ever seen someone list their relationship status as “It’s complicated”? I guess saying it is complicated sounds better than saying it is dysfunctional, but the truth is the truth. The simple, UN-complicated fact is, your relationship most likely should end, and you know it. All relationships are complex, but quite often we make them more complicated than they really are. Occom’s razor is a line of reasoning that the simplest answer is most likely the correct one. This line of reasoning is used by police to solve crimes, doctors to diagnose illnesses, etc. It would be great if people used this same line of reasoning to simplify their relationships, instead of making them more complicated. Let’s looks at some scenarios for “complicated relationships” and cut through the bull*hit once and for all: 1. If you are married but in the process of getting a divorce, just put divorced instead of the dramatic label of “it’s complicated”. If anyone really needs to know the details, they already know, or you can tell them personally. People that are working on their marriage, or [...]

I recently came across a site where people pose questions for other people on the site to answer. I found a repetitive theme, where people constantly were asking “What does it mean when he says this, or when he does that”? The answers were very obvious, but when seeing what answers were chosen by the “asker” as the best, the answers left little to logic, and should have won a creative writing contest instead. Are people really that complex that we need decoder rings to figure out their motives, and why is the obvious discarded, while the hunt for better answers continues? Why do we seek to find the answers we want, rather than accept the answer that makes logical sense? How come, in affairs of the heart, people give themselves permission to go right past reality straight to fantasyland? Why do we have such a hard time accepting the truth? For example: One major question I have heard over and over is “What does it mean when a guy tells you he is not looking for a girlfriend yet we get along great, have a good time together, and have great sex”? The answer? He doesn’t want a girlfriend. [...]

When in Doubt, Check them Out!! Dating is a risky business. You are letting yourself become vulnerable and giving your heart away to someone else. Are they worth the risk? Is there a way to minimize that risk? Are you having any doubts or nagging suspicions? Is your intuition nudging you and telling you to be careful, something may not be right? When in doubt, check them out! There are many sites, that for a small fee, will help you check them out and make sure their stories are true. Are they telling you they are single? Divorced? Have no criminal background? Why not make sure before you give your heart away? If you are going to invest time, energy and your feelings into someone why not make sure that someone is telling you the truth? of course we don’t want to think they would lie. Of course we don’t want to think we don’t trust them enough and had them checked out. We may be afraid that if they find out, they will leave us. Stop worrying about what they make think of you. If you were going to invest in a home, car, or anything else you would [...]

There is an office filled with people, who come to work to scam you out of your money.
